Rare Disease Day 2012 is on 29 February, the rarest day of the year!
The AKU Society will be attending events in the UK and in Switzerland.
Oliver Timmis, AKU Society Communications Manager will be present at the Rare Disease Day events at Royal Holloway, University of London.
The event will have exhibitions from several rare disease organisations (including an AKU stand) in the morning, followed by a series of talks from experts in the afternoon. If you want to attend, the event, you can contact the organisers at RDD@rhul.ac.uk
Nick Sireau, AKU Society Chairman, will be speaking at the Rare Disease Day meeting, the First International Congress on Research of Rare and Orphan Diseases at the Novartis Campus in Basel, Switzerland.
The event will see three days of talks from world-leaders in rare disease research. You can see the programme and register on their website. The congress aims to be the first in a series of meetings designed to spark rare disease research. It's the idea of two Swiss organisations: The Blackswan Foundation and Gebert Ruf Stiftung.
We'd love to see AKU patients and supporters at either of these events. If you want to know more, or are doing something else for Rare Disease Day, please contact oliver@akusociety.org
If you liked the work we are doing here, why don't you donate to help us continue, and
remember to check back regularly for updates.
